About Renew Strength and Wellness
Hi. We’re glad you’re here, because we created Renew Strength and Wellness for you. Odds are, if you’ve made it this far, you care about your health, be that physical, mental, medical or all three. That’s good. Health is one of the most important things in life. But sometimes life’s the problem, isn’t it? Stress from work. No time for exercise or self-care. Injuries at the gym or on the court. Confusing messages about the best way to overcome injuries or get into a good head space. A medical system that feels impersonal and one-size-fits-all. Rehabilitation plans that only treat symptoms and not root causes.
These challenges can make it seem hopeless sometimes. You might think that you just have to live with your pain or maybe even give up the sport or activity you love. You might have to resign yourself to feeling exhausted, unhappy, and disconnected from your family. Your story doesn’t have to end there. We created Renew to overcome those obstacles that life throws at us. We find the root causes of injuries, stress, and unhealthy lifestyles and develop programs to fix them. We focus on your whole being: physical, mental, and emotional.
We teach you how to develop sustainable habits so you can stick with your plan and achieve your goals. Our programs are personalized. We put a premium on clear and timely communication. We care.
Our message to everyone is one of hope and possibility.
You have the ability to build a strong, tough, flexible body that will allow you to do what you love for the rest of your life.
You have the ability to develop a plan to invest in yourself, rediscover your inner joy, and bring that joy to your family.
You can rewrite your story. You can face life’s challenges. You can overcome them.

Matt’s Story
I’ve been a licensed physical therapist for seventeen years, and I’ve been an overdoer for my whole life. I like to push myself to the limit. Always have. I grew up loving hiking, fishing, trekking through the woods, playing soccer, running, and climbing every tree I could. My love of athleticism continued when I joined the Army.
Toward the end of my tour of duty, I sustained several injuries that set me back big time. Nobody was really able to diagnose my problems. At best, I got no answers. At worst, the healthcare professionals I saw suggested it was all in my head. Eventually I gave up. I figured I’d just have to live with the new limitations life had handed me.
When I became a physical therapist, I promised I would never let that happen to my patients. I’ve spent my entire career digging into the root causes of muscle and joint pain and anything that keeps people from doing what they love. Unfortunately, along the way, I’ve found that the traditional medical establishment doesn’t really support that kind of treatment. You have to hit the numbers. You gotta see your quota of patients every day. You can’t spend the one-on-one time that’s needed for figuring out difficult cases.
So I decided to do things differently. In June, 2023, I started Renew Strength and Wellness. I set up my schedule so I could have the time to get to the root cause of my clients’ problems. I developed systems to help my clients develop the habits to stick with their rehab programs. I developed programs that progressed with my clients. Results followed. Good results.

I believe in the fundamentals: Find the root causes of the problem.
Develop a program to fix those root causes. Improve movement. Promote athletic longevity. Develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. I don’t go in for gimmicks. I believe in hard work. I believe in consistency. I believe in clear communication. I believe in empowering my clients and teaching them to take charge in managing their own health. I believe in these things because they work. I believe in them because I want my clients to have bodies that are strong, flexible, and injury-resistant so they can do what they love for the rest of their lives.
If you are struggling with an injury or limitation that is keeping you from what you love, book a discovery call here. It’s free, and it might just change your life.
Sandy’s Story
I have been a Registered nurse since 1999 when I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). I love baking, spending time talking to friends, crocheting, going on hikes, and having fun with my family. But it hasn’t always been that way.
When I was in college, I loved adventures. I’d go on epic mountain bike rides with friends. I’d play ultimate frisbee. I would fly across the country for the weekend. I did a 28-day backpacking trip in the mountains of North Carolina. Heck, I uprooted my whole life to move to Hawaii where I met my future husband. I was a total adventure-girl!

After I married Matt and we moved to St. Augustine for him to attend physical therapy school, life started to sneak in. I started putting my needs on the backburner to support Matt through school. Once Matt graduated and got a job, then came kids. I love my kids dearly, but anyone who’s ever had them knows that they require all your energy. So, like any good mom, I poured all of myself into my children. When they hit school-age, I went back to work, and next thing I knew, I barely recognized myself. Life had become all dishes, and laundry, and work, and chores. I’d lost myself and didn’t even know it. I remember feeling tired all the time. I didn’t feel like going out to meet people. I just wanted to sit on the couch and watch Netflix until bedtime. There was no passion. I didn’t like how I felt, how I looked, or how I interacted with the world.
Then I discovered transformative nurse coaching. It was a 6-month course to teach me how to use my nursing skills to coach people through health and wellness challenges. I was instantly drawn to the program, and didn’t fully know why.
During the program, I learned the foundational principle that you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of other people.
That simple concept turned my life around.
I started taking a little bit of time for myself. Some yoga here. A little meditation there. I started asking for help in the kitchen and with chores. And you know what? My family said yes. All of a sudden I started laughing again. I started looking forward to talking to my friends again. I started planning adventures again. I even lost ten pounds through simple, sustainable lifestyle changes. I look great and I feel great.
The last two years have been a whirlwind roller coaster that has taken me back to that girl I was so long ago. The change has been so amazing for myself and my family that a large part of my life and wellness coaching is aimed toward helping moms like me rediscover their inner joy so they can find that connected, meaningful life they’ve been longing for.
If this sounds like you, I’d love to talk about how we can get you where you want to be. Book a discovery call here. It’s totally free and totally life-changing.
